Is ozone gas dangerous
Ozone is naturally produced during a thunderstorm, which is what accounts for the famous “After the rain” smell. Our Tankoclear system produces way less ozone than a thunderstorm does, so in small quantities, it’s completely harmless.
Ozone gas reverts back into oxygen after approximately 20-25 minutes, so the ozone gas that is produced will revert and quickly dissolve into the ambient air.
How long does it take to purify my water
Tanks that are around 150 litres typlically require around 30mins of ozonation with our TankoClear system. If the tank is 300 litres, allow an hour. If you are simply topping up about 50 litres, then 10mins is all you will need.
You cannot over-ozonate your water tank, so for peace of mind feel free to run it longer
Must I run the ozonator all the time
No not at all. Once your water is satuated with ozone, it will kill all micro organisms and remove all bio-film very quickly – now your water is safe to drink and that’s how it will stay untill you top-up or refill your tank, then you will need to run the Tanoclear Ozone system to ensure that the newly added water is clear of any bio residue.
How long does the Ozonator last
Over time, ozone generators will reduce the amount of ozone output, so we recommend replacing the ozone generator every 3 years.
Who can install this system for me?
Anyone can easily install the system by following the instructions from the included Tankoclear “Instruction manual 2.0”.
However, to ensure that all the correct installation procedures and wiring best-practices are adhered to, the Tankoclear system should preferably be installed by your supplier or approved maintenance company.
How do I know whether my tank is suitable?
Tankoclear is suitable for plastic and stainless-steel clean water tanks* up to approx. 2000 liters.
* Note that ozone is NOT suitable for aluminium or non-stainless steel tanks *
Your clean-water tank must also have an airflow system. But you’ll be happy to know that for an RV / Motorhome, every built-in and sealed clean-water tank with a filler opening on the outside is usually equipped with an airflow system as standard.
If you have a stand-alone water tank that is filled by unscrewing the filler cap, it is recommended that you add an air bleed valve at the top of the tank before installing our TankOClear system – this is to prevent pressure build up.
